The smartphone does everything a personal computer can do without any interruption. The smartphone can browse the internet and run software programs like a computer. 


A smartphone has a lot of features, a typical smartphone has a high-resolution touch screen display. High-quality camera, including front and rear camera, all types of connectivity (Wi-Fi, cellular data, Bluetooth, satellite navigation, etc.) all types of web browsing capabilities, and thousands of smartphone apps including Games, personal and business use program all this run on the smartphone. 


smartphone has a more powerful and strong CPU, more RAM, Efficient internal storage space, and greater connectivity options with a larger display screen than a regular cell phone.

Most types of smartphones include a USB connection, which allows users to sync data to their computer and update their smartphone software. Even though the screen of a smartphone is smaller than that of a computer, the work of a smartphone is similar to that of a computer.

Something similar happened 25 years ago, IBM ( International Business Machines )released a bulky touchscreen Smartphone called Simon. The tech company IBM invented the world's first smartphone. The smartphone was launched and went to sale in 1994 with some great features like calculator, email, touchscreen, sketch pad, some inbuilt apps. 


Despite all this, one of the drawbacks of the Simon smartphone was that its battery life was not enough, so there was frustration in the market about that smartphone.



How the Simon Smartphone came to an end?



   Eventually, Simon fell victim to changes in technology, with the introduction of the flip phone in the 1990s and the rise of Nokia phones in the late 21st century. Also, as the days went by, the technology evolved and new special feature phones were invented.


 Over the last decade, a lot of smartphone companies like Apple, Samsung, Nokia, etc. have come forward and a lot of new things have come up in the field of smartphones and technology has been evolving.


Today we see that every person in the world has a smartphone and the number of smartphones is increasing exponentially. By 2020, the number of smartphones was expected to go beyond three to four billion and it is gone. And yet a large number of smartphones are being manufactured in different ways. 

Therefore, the developed smartphone has overtaken Simon to replace Simon. Thus ended Simon.

   In 1979, the first mobile network was set up in Japan. It was a first-generation network with which people could talk among themselves. The second-generation mobile network service was launched in Finland in 1991 by a company called Radiolinja. With the introduction of this service, mobile brought SMS and Internet service.


This was followed by 3G, which was the most advanced mobile network at the time. With this, data transfer became faster. The video calling feature came in this generation. The 3rd generation service arrived in Japan in the year 2001. This was followed by 4G and 5G generation networks. There is a 4G network in India right now.


For mobile calling or Internet, it is necessary to have a Sim Card (Subscriber Identification Module). Mobile is not important without it. The world's first mobile SIM card was created in the year 1991 by the German company Giesecke & Devrient. Samsung, Nokia, Apple, Motorola, LG, Xiaomi are main in making Mobile Phone.
